The inspiration for the piece of artwork on this webpage melded itself together in a peculiar way, I admit. That being said, I had plenty of fun painting this beautiful blue and freedom-filled piece. At the bottom, my client wanted a means to keep track of the number of flights he had made. I included an additional space to write down where he wants to go next in chalk.

My client enjoys traveling the globe, has his own plane, and holds his own pilot’s license. He adores adventure, and his favorite quote goes, “the world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page,” by Saint Augustine. Meanwhile, during one of my own adventures, I came across an old American World War II plane that had, “this machine kills fascists” scrawled on its nose.

Try as I might, a combination of the two quotes fused in a way I could not ignore. In a world that is a book, this machine is a page-turner.
